An Authentic Dal Moradabadi With Buknu Masala Recipe

Dal Moradabadi With Buknu Masala is an very old and popular Uttar Pardesh main course dish. It's moong dal tempered with authentuc buknu masala,saunth chutney and mint chutney. It is finger licking and lip smacking dish. Here is how to start.

  • Moong Dal: 100 gm
  • Turmeric: 2 gm
  • Desi ghee: 20 ml
  • Cumin: 5 gm
  • Cloves: 2-3
  • Hing: 2 gm
  • Ginger Chopped: 5 gm
  • Green Chillies, Chopped: 3 gm
  • Salt To Taste
  • Tomatoes, Chopped: 20 gm
  • Onion, Choppped: 15 gm
  • Saunth Chutney: 10 ml
  • Mint Chutney: 15 ml
  • Buknu Masala: 3 gm
  • Lemon Juice: 5 ml
  • Fried Moong Dal For Garnish

How To Cook

  1. clean,wash and soak moong dal for one hour . Cook it in a heavy-bottom pan till it is completely mashed.
  2. Heat desi ghee in a pan and crackle cumin seeds, cloves and hing , thenadd ginger and chillies.
  3. Temper the cooked dal with this ghee. Add butter.
  4. To serve the dal, pour it in a serving bowl. Drizzle saunth and mint chutney on it .
  5. Top it up with chopped tomatoes and onions. Sprinkle some lemon juice on it .

Garnish With Fried Moong Dal and Buknu Masala. Enjoy!
